Intro
Low level work platforms — podiums, pulpits, room scaffolds and podium steps — give a stable platform for work under 2.5 metres. They’re lightweight, easy to move and fold away neatly, which is exactly why people underestimate them.
It’s easy to look at a piece of equipment that only goes a short distance off the ground and assume nothing bad could happen. Falls from podiums cause serious injury every year. Like any work at height equipment, they need to be used by people who’ve been trained properly.
This half-day course covers the theory and the practical, so you leave confident you’re working safely at low level.

- When it’s safe to use low level access equipment, and when it’s not

- The components used in low level access equipment
- Assembling and dismantling low level access equipment, including the 3T method
- Good practice for safe use
- Accessing a platform safely
- Moving low level access equipment
- Identifying hazards in the work environment
- Avoiding personal health hazards
Who it’s for
Anyone who uses low-level access equipment at work, including those who’ve never used it before, those who use it but have never been formally trained, and those re-taking the course after their qualification expires.
